In the nick of time!

Caireen went out this evening to close the door on the duck house. The ducks were out and cowering under the duck house. Ten feet away was the fox, obviously trying to figure out where to start.

The hounds were released and the fox departed in haste.

This time of year it's the vixens who are out hunting for their cubs/kits. I lost the entire flock of chickens this time four years ago. I've not seen the fox around much since I got the dog. I've obviously overestimated Clio's effectiveness as a threat.

The forest is rotten with pheasants these days. Don't know why the fox can't start with them and leave my ducks alone!
